The firm has acted, and continues to act for most of the banks and financial institutions in Malaysia as well as government departments and government-linked entities such as Bahagian Pinjaman Perumahan / Lembaga Pembiayaan Perumahan Sektor Awam and Petronas/Telekom/TNB. Thus, drawing from past experience, we have built enormous expertise in the various types of financing transactions and Islamic facilities and have advised banks, financiers and borrowers on a broad range of secured and unsecured credit facilities, corporate loans, commercial loans as well as retail and consumer loans.
We also have significant experience in handling large numbers of housing/residential and commercial developments. As an integral part of this area of practice, we also advise on licensing and regulatory approvals from government and statutory agencies including the State Authorities and the Estate Land Board.
As we have handled the majority of the housing developments of key developers in Sungai Petani, we have gained an extensive and diverse experience which puts the firm in extremely good stead to handle housing and commercial developments in this era of globalisation.
Due to the extensive experience of our partners, we also have experience handling commercial and residential developments in Penang as well as in the Klang Valley.
In addition, we have also advised statutory bodies, construction companies, developers, landowners, landlords, tenants, borrowers, funders and lenders on issues relating to real property, joint ventures and other issues pertaining thereto.
The firm also advises clients on the preparation of wills, and offers assistance in the distribution of assets to beneficiaries whether by way of grant of probate or letters of administration, including applications to the Bahagian Pembahagian Pusaka Kecil.
Dispute Resolution
The firm continues to expand on its practice with its Dispute Resolution department that offers advice and services pertaining to Court-related matters, both contentious and non-contentious. The Dispute Resolution department’s portfolio is primarily in the area of general and civil litigation.
This would include among others, debt recovery on behalf of banks and financial institutions, contractual and commercial claims and disputes, tortious claims, probate and administration, family and matrimonial proceedings, landlord and tenant disputes, and corporate litigation.
